Is blogging enough?

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Hell no, it isn’t. In fact, I’d argue that your blog is worthless until it becomes a supplement of your identity. An extension of what you’re doing, not the center of it.

Blog ahead

Monday, October 12th, 2009

I wrote well over a year ago that it would be a good idea for any blogger to have a backlog of posts in case life got a little too hectic. This is definitely one of those times for me, and I don’t have any backup posts. I need to set aside some time this weekend and get to that.

I am a fan of FeedBurner. But URLs are permanent.

What happens when you have visitors subscribe to a standard feeds.feedburner.com URL?

  • People subscribe to a URL owned by Google.

For the blog-obsessed

Monday, April 13th, 2009

I was just thinking about how many feeds I subscribe to (huh?) and how many blog posts I read. I almost never leave comments. But blogs are a conversation, or else they wouldn’t have the comment area.

Blog rot

Friday, September 26th, 2008

It’s so easy to shake my head in disapproval when someone else does not update their blog consistently. I am shaking my head at myself right now. No posts yet in September? What kind of Internet Marketer am I?

It takes a lot of work to nurture a blog or online community. It takes commitment and discipline to produce useful information consistently. And boy does it get hard after that “honey moon period” is over and your blog isn’t so new anymore.
