cfspreadsheet for Railo

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

If you’ve made the switch to Railo and find yourself missing the <cfspreadsheet> tag and its related functions, don’t fear. Andy Jarrett released an extension for Railo early this year to fill in that gap.

The extension is based on the CFPOI project started by Matt Woodward. But what’s been really cool about the Railo extension project is that it has incorporated some major bug fixes and filled in some missing features. CFPOI appeared to lose steam some time ago, so it’s been nice to see the project breathe some extra life.

In addition to the link above, the GitHub repo is the place to look if you want to watch it, report issues, and contribute.

It’d also be nice to see any bug fixes Andy made rolled back into CFPOI but I’ve never seen a one. Just sayin’.

Thanks for the shout :) The project isn’t too far from being quite stable, it just needs some tests written for it to iron out the last remaining issues.

Andy, no problem. I’ve already used this extension on a project, and it works very well for my purposes!

Matt, yes, it would be cool to see the forked stuff get merged back into the original project. Maybe I can work up a patch and get it over to you. Otherwise, the code is out there on GitHub. ;)

I know this comment is completely unrelated, but I can’t view any of the screencasts on the cfrails website. Just saying.

    Hi Mikey,

Are you receiving an error message or anything like that? You can find all of the screencasts on Vimeo and YouTube as well.  Hope that helps.
